Fortnite Adds Two Popular Characters from The Witcher

Fortnite confirms another crossover with The Witcher
by Tit Krajnik on June 22, 2023

In its latest crossover, Fortnite officially announced the addition of two iconic characters from The Witcher 3, as revealed on Thursday, June 22. While big news, the new skins are hardly a surprise considering the Fortnite x The Witcher crossover was already leaked before the official announcement.

On Thursday, Fortnite announced a long-awaited crossover with The Witcher, which will see the addition of two iconic characters from the popular series. This is by no means the first big crossover Fortnite got involved in, as Epic Games previously worked with a plethora of popular PIs, ranging from famous music artists, to Nike, Marvel Cinematic Universe, and many more.

Named “The Take of Two Tempests,” the latest crossover will bring Yennefer and Ciri from The Witcher 3 to Fortnite in the form of skins. In addition to that, the new bundle will include Ciri’s sword Zireael as a part of Ciri’s bundle, whereas Yennefer’s bundle will offer Megascope Harvesting Tool, the Black Wings emote, and Bird Skull Back Bling.

Fortnite has yet to reveal how much the two new skins – Ciri and Yennefer – will cost, nor do we know the price of the bundles. However, previous releases had skins like these at 800 to 2,000 V-Bucks, with bundles costing a bit more.

The latest crossover was announced at a convenient time, ahead of the next season of The Witcher, which is set to release on June 29. So it’s entirely likely that The Wither partnered with Fortnite as a part of the effort to promote Netflix’s next season. Similarly, Fortnite released Geralt skin in Chapter 4, Season 1, just over a month before The Witcher 3 update. With that, Fortnite will have three Witcher-themed skins in the game.

All Witcher-themed bundles will become available on Friday, June 23, at 7 AM ET; however, it remains to be seen for how long the bundles will be purchasable in the in-game store.
