Warzone and Modern Warfare 2 Season 4 Reloaded Introduces The Boys Characters

Call of Duty mid-season update will feature characters from a popular series, The Boys
by Tit Krajnik on July 11, 2023

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone Season 4 Reloaded update is set to launch on Wednesday, July 12, introducing many changes, including adding maps and characters from The Boys – a popular superhero TV series.

Activision has recently revealed a detailed breakdown of all the new features that’ll come with the Season 4 Reloaded update, which will add promising new content for MW2 and Warzone. The whole update is themed around The Boys, an Amazon Prime series, with characters from the show added to the game. But that’s only a tiny portion of all the new content Season 4 Reloaded will bring.

Warzone players will be happy to learn that a bit of Verdansk is returning to the game as a Vondel Gulag. It will have a similar layout to the original Gulag, which was a shower block under the Prison.

Besides the Warzone update, the main attraction of the Season 4 Reloaded is the introduction of new operators in Starlight, Black Noir, and Homelander. The superheroes bring limited Operator bundles, Diabolical Camo Challenges, cosmetic map changes, and field upgrades such as Temp V.

Temp V is a temporary field upgrade granting the player one of four superpowers. The only significant difference between Temp V and other field upgrades is that it can be re-activated once used and is lost upon death. It’s also important to note that picking any other field upgrade will remove Temp V from the player’s inventory.

The four superpowers include Electric Shockwave, Laser Vision, Charge Jump, and Teleport.

  • Electric Shockwave – A damaging ability that sends a powerful electrical explosion that injures AI combatants and other operators and damages equipment and vehicles.
  • Charge Jump – Operators get propelled across the map and don’t suffer any fall damage when landing. Upon landing, the operator deals splash damage to anything within a short radius of his landing spot.
  • Teleport – The operator jumps forward and in the direction he is facing.
  • Laser Vision – Upon activation, the operator jumps into the air and levitates, firing a beam in the direction he’s facing that sears through enemies.

Besides the Warzone updates and new operators, Season 4 Reloaded will introduce a new 6v6 multiplayer map – Vondel Waterfront. This is the same map introduced in Season 4 but changed and optimized for multiplayer with fewer buildings and more navigable waterways. MW2 players can also expect the finale to the Special Ops Raid Atomgrad, a new automatic shotgun, MX Guardian.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 Season 4 Reloaded is set to launch on Wednesday, July 12, at 9 AM PT across all platforms.
