Mortal Kombat 1 Includes Killer Audio Accessibility Options

Everyone can play!
by Natalie Collazo on August 23, 2023

The best games that you can buy are the ones that have a wide variety of accessibility options. Netherealm Studios seems to agree with the sentiment as they have added audio descriptive fatalities in Mortal Kombat 1 for those who are blind are simply have a difficult time seeing what's on screen. This is a huge game changer for a lot of folks who otherwise wouldn't be able to enjoy or experience the game the same way.

This feature was shown off over on X (formerly known as Twitter) via GamesHub managing editor Edmond Tran. In the shared video, Li Mei punches into the "victim's" abdominal area where she then pulls out her guts. The entirety of the fatality is narrated by a well-done voiceover that explains what is going on very well, down to the last detail. As in typical Mortal Kombat fashion, the feature couldn't have been shared without the blood and guts that the series is known for.

Mortal Kombat 1 is set to release on September 19 for PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5. If you missed yesterday's Gamescom opening night live show, then check it out to see a new trailer for the game that features the return of beloved characters. While Mortal Kombat 1 won't be there, you can also check out the Future Games Show tonight as the second day of Gamescom.
