Official Starfield Mods Are On Their Way

Get ready for the next level of the game.
by Natalie Collazo on September 12, 2023

Starfield is already on its way to becoming one of the greatest games to touch on space exploration of all time. It is also one of the first titles to use the atmosphere of space as more than just a talking point among characters. The game makes you feel as though humans were always in space and not as though it is a scapegoat for speaking in ways that humans never normally would because it's 'funny.' To make the fun even more exciting, Bethesda is going to be launching official mods that will let players explore and travel the starfield like they never thought possible.

Todd Howard had made the announcement with the intention of the release to be sometime in 2024, but nothing more than that. The idea of adding official mods to Bethesda games isn't new, as Fallout 4 and later The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim had also added them to allow players to really play how they want.

Of course, mods are already available for players to use, but they aren't official. Official ones are much safer to use for the game and don't require you to have to leave the game if it's going to be anything like the previous games we had mentioned. The Creation Kit, as it was called for the previous titles, gave players the chance to change things such as character models, and textures, and even change the script of the game.

We already know that Starfield is going to be seeing some post-release DLC, but not when. Hopefully, we will hear more about the Creation Kit as well as the DLC that we should be getting in the coming months.

Starfield is now available for Xbox Series X|S and PC.
