WoW Pirates' Day Rewards And Dates

Yarrr!
by Tit Krajnik on September 16, 2023

World of Warcraft's next expansion is, as confirmed, won't be pirate-themed, but that doesn't mean that WoW players won't get to let their inner pirate out and engage in pirate activities. The annual Pirates' Day is set to return next week to correspond with the "real world" International Talk Like a Pirate Day.

World of Warcraft Pirates' Day is set to kick off on Tuesday, September 19, as a 24-hour event, which is only available once per year. During the event, the players get to disguise themselves as pirates and attend the festivities in Booty Bay, where the players will find pirates celebrating on the top of the Booty Bay bank.

Among all NPCs, there are also Cap'n Slappy and Ol' Chumbucket, which pay homage to the real founders of the International Talk Like a Pirate Day, John Baur and Mark Summers, also known as Cap'n Slappy and Ol' Chumbucket.

The Pirates' Day will, of course, also offer nice rewards for anyone who participates, including an achievement, "The Captain's Booty," which can only be unlocked once a year.

The Pirates' Day event will take place in Booty Bay, in Stranglethorn Vale, with music, fireworks, special events, and, of course, cannons.

Once you've arrived at Booty Bay, talk to Dread Captain DeMeza and share a drink, which will grant you Dread Corsair buff and give you a pirate costume of your character's race - and it even works in Druid's forms. The buff lasts for 12 hours and persists through mounting, combat, and even death.

By getting the buff, the player will unlock the Captain's Booty achievement, which is one of the rarest achievements in the game since it's only obtainable in a 24-hour window once per year. For a bigger challenge, players can consider unlocking the Avast Ye, Admiral! Achievement by obtaining the Bloodsail Admiral's Hat.

Players can also purchase a Big Bag of Booty from Dread Captain DeMeza for 300g and recreate Runescape's drop parties by throwing piles of gold around on the ground for players to pick up.

A big change coming to this year's WoW Pirates' Day is a new unlockable item – a pirate-themed armored saddle for Highland Drake – one of five new flying mounts that became available in World of Warcraft: Dragonflight. The Pirate's Day Armor for Highland Drake is one of four event-themed amors for Dragonflight's new mounts, besides Brewfest, Hallow's End, and Day of the Dead.
