Does PayDay 3 Support Crossplay?

Will PayDay 3 support crossplay and cross-progression?
by Tit Krajnik on September 20, 2023

PayDay 3 is one of the most anticipated co-op game releases of 2023, a game that is perfect for playing with friends as you forge plans on how to quietly rob a bank or burst down the doors and take on the waves of incoming police forces while you complete the heist. Even though PayDay can be played solo, it’s always better to team up with friends and assemble the finest thieving group to take all the loot.

PayDay 3 is set to release on Thursday, September 21, for PC, PlayStation, and Xbox, and as we get closer to the long-anticipated launch, one of the main questions players have is whether PayDay supports crossplay.

Does PayDay 3 Have Crossplay?

Crossplay is a convenient feature that allows players to play with friends using other systems, allowing those who play on PC to team up with others using PlayStation, Xbox, or any combination of the three. And while most online nowadays come with crossplay, some don’t.

PayDay 3 fans can rejoice knowing that PayDay 3 has confirmed to support crossplay, meaning you can team up with your friends regardless of which platform they are using to play the game. This is not a rumor but a confirmed feature added to the game, as revealed on PayDay’s official website.

The crossplay can be turned on and off in the options menu of PayDay 3. To do so, head to “more” in the main menu and click on “settings.” Click on gameplay and scroll down to “disable crossplay” if you want it disabled. Otherwise, leave it enabled.

It’s important to note that while PayDay 3 will support crossplay, it won’t work on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 since the game runs on Unreal Engine 4 and doesn’t support older consoles.

Does PayDay 3 Have Cross-Progression?

Cross-progression is another handy feature that becomes valuable for those playing one game across several systems. It allows you to keep your progression when switching from one system to another and is typically included in all modern titles, such as Redfall, Call of Duty, and Street Fighter 6.

As confirmed by Starbreeze Entertainment, PayDay 3 will support cross-progression as well. That means that regardless of the platform you’re using to play the game, you can pick up where you left off and continue your adventures even if you buy the game on another platform.
