LoL Patch 13.21 Will Buff AD Champions

Recent changes nerfed AD champions too much, but Riot Games plans to fix the mistake
by Tit Krajnik on October 17, 2023

The recent League of Legends Patch 13.20 introduced many changes to the game, including a significant update to the jungle role. This, however, led to AD champions falling off quite heavily – something Riot Games plans to fix with the upcoming Patch 13.21.

This week, the Lead Gameplay Designer for LoL, Matt "Phroxzon" Leung-Harrison, made a post on Twitter highlighting upcoming changes for the game, in the post. Phroxzon explained that due to the changes brought by Patch 13.20, many AD champions became too weak and that Riot would fix the issue by buffing many of them.

"Jungle changes have landed reasonably well overall. We think this helps reward junglers who are more efficient, and we've been happy with seeing some of the initial movement on the balance of ganking and farming (Smite changes moved a lot here)"

"However, the within-role champion balance is off. Some tanks are too strong, and a lot of AD champions are too weak."

Phroxzon touched on a few of the most popular champions in the post and mentioned their current state after Patch 13.20.
Kha'Zix, Bel'Veth, Hecarim, and Master Yi were all hit the hardest with the recent changes due to AD ratio removal from the pet, which will get reverted. Meanwhile, K'sante has initially looked good, but the changes made it better for casual players and worse for pros, so Riot Games decided to buff him a bit with the next patch.

Besides the mentioned few, Riot Games is also buffing LeBlanc, Morgana, Tahm Kench, and Varus.

On the other side, some champions are set to receive a nerf. That includes Aurelion Sol, Briar, Caitlyn, Dr. Mundo, Jinx, and Rammus. Other changes include adjustments to Brand, Seraphine, and Zyra.
