PS5 Controller Schematics Show Earbud Charger Feature

Wouldn't that be convenient?
by Natalie Collazo on October 18, 2023

A new schematic for Sony's PlayStation 5 controller was uncovered recently that would be able to both store and charge your earbuds. The actual schematics themselves showcase different areas in which the earbuds could be stored, which could indicate that the company has not yet finalized the decision. It could also mean that the earbuds will be able to charge wirelessly. It's also worth noting that nothing about this indicates that Sony is actively working on creating this.

The idea of being able to store and charge your earbuds within the controller is absolutely ideal. The concept of quality sound from earbuds has been more widely accepted lately, meaning that the shift to professional earbuds for gaming might be soon upon us. It's also worth noting that these earbuds, which will be most likely created by INZONE, a PC accessory brand that Sony launched last year, are for both PC and PS5. The controller itself is also usable on PC, making this design even more accessible to PC players who have a PS5 than before.

The products that have been shown off by INZONE thus far are the Inzone M9 and Inzone M3 monitors, as well as their headset line of wired and wireless headsets. The INZONE buds market for $200 USD, so combined with the $69.99 price point of the controller by itself, we could very well be looking at a $300 controller.
