Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor Release Date Announced

It will debut on Steam in early access before the official release
by Tit Krajnik on February 01, 2024

Ghost Ship Publishing and developer Funday Games have announced the official release date for Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor, which is set to launch on Valentine’s Day. The game will be hitting Steam as an early access before its official release later this year.

Like its predecessor, Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor will include terrain destruction through mining, allowing the dwarves to navigate through caves and treacherous cliffs in search of glyphids and minerals. However, unlike Deep Rock Galactic, it will be a top-down game.

When Does Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor Release?

The single-player, top-down shoot ’em-up game featuring the iconic dwarves from Deep Rock Galactic finally has a release date. As confirmed, the survivor-like title will hit Steam on February 14, 2024, as early access, expanding on the widely popular Deep Rock Galactic franchise with a unique twist.

The short release date trailer gives a glimpse into how the game will look, showing a familiar style with 100% destructible terrain, many monsters to slay, dozens of weapons to pick from, and an upgrade system. However, unlike its predecessor, Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor will be a top-down single-player game.

As confirmed in the trailer and on the Steam page, Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor will launch with three key features on February 14.

  • 20 Enemy Types
  • 3 Biomes
  • 4 Classes
  • 40 Weapons
  • A deep progression system of class modes, upgrades, and artifacts

The game will launch with three biomes, including Crystalline Caverns, Hollow Bough, and Magma Core, and include 40 weapons, such as iconic rifles from Deep Rock Galactic and new tools of destruction, offering enough variety for all playstyles.

The game will go live as early access, meaning there is still a lot of new content, which will be determined based on the community feedback during the early access. And at just $9.99 / €9.99 / £9.99, Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor is definitely a game worth picking up once it goes live.
