This PS3 Tactical RPG is Coming to the Switch

Get ready for some good RPG action.
by Natalie Collazo on February 26, 2024

When Rainbow Moon first came out in 2012 on the PS3, players were excited to see such a gorgeous, isometric world. Players take on the role of Baldren as he journeys to the mystical land of Rainbow Moon. Here, portal-like gates have opened, setting monsters loose for Baldren to oppose and return to his home planet. A year later, a portable version was released for the PS Vita, bringing a whole new love for the game. Now, we can expect it to be released on the Nintendo Switch this March 15.

What Is Rainbow Moon?

More specifically, the details of Rainbow Moon are as follows (as taken from the Nintendo website):

  • • Journey through a 40-hour main story with enough side missions to fill more than 100 hours!
  • • Explore an isometric open world with 15 different terrains, from snowy mountains to rolling grasslands.
  • • Complete 50 unique quests as you traverse 20 challenging dungeons!
  • • Engage in sophisticated turn-based combat with a vast array of skills and special attacks.
  • • Take command of 6 playable main characters with upgradable weapons, armor and accessories.
  • • Enjoy technically perfected gameplay and adjustable balance settings to customize the experience!

In an age where it's difficult to keep track of what games aren't available anymore since they can no longer be played, it's good to see older games be put on modern consoles. Especially considering how well PS Vita games play on the Nintendo Switch. Personally, we would go feral if Freedom Wars could be put on the Nintendo Switch. Having more RPGs from PlayStation's beloved handheld will always be a good idea in our opinion.
