Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Release Date Leaked Early

Another day, another leak
by Tit Krajnik on June 09, 2024

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 information has been posted on the Xbox Store, revealing the release date and more ahead of the official announcement at the Xbox Games Showcase. This marks just one of many instances where a game’s release date was leaked early, but the fans can’t complain.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Releases in October

The Xbox Store posting revealed that Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will be released on October 25, 2024, with a potential October 17 early release for the campaign – as CoD has done in the past years.

Developed by Raven Software and Treyarch, the next installment will be set in the early 1990s, and it'll launch on Microsoft’s Xbox Game Pass subscription service on day one. Along with a new campaign, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will include a multiplayer mode with 16 new maps and a new zombie mode.

Set in the early 1990s, after the end of the Cold War, Black Ops 6 will revolve around the story of the rise of America as the single superpower – according to the store listing. It was also confirmed that the campaign will focus on spy missions, although not much more than that was shared.

Activision will reveal more information about Black Ops 6 during the Xbox Games Showcase on Sunday, June 9.

Some of the details about CoD: Black Ops 6 are already known, including:

  • 16 new maps
  • 12 core 6v6 multiplayer maps
  • Four strike maps – for 2v2 and 6v6 modes
  • Round-based zombie mode returns
  • New zombie maps at launch

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will be available on PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox series S/X, and PC on October 25. Xbox Games Pass subscribers will get access to the game on day one on Xbox and PC.
