Bandai Namco Reveals BLEACH Fighting Game

BLEACH fighting game is coming to PC, PlayStation, and Xbox
by Tit Krajnik on July 06, 2024

On Saturday, July 6, 2024, Bandai Namco officially revealed BLEACH: Rebirth of Souls, a new fighting game based on the Bleach anime franchise. The upcoming 3D fighter was revealed with a short trailer, confirming its release on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox.

Bleach is one of the most iconic anime series of the 2000s, and it has an extensive history of being implemented in video games.

First released in 2005, Bleach: Heat the Soul is a well-known 3D cel-shaded fighting game. However, the recent releases of Bleach: Heat the Soul were mostly available on mobile platforms, meaning that BLEACH fighting games were not available to PC, PlayStation, and Xbox gamers.

That is about to change with Bandai Namco’s newest project, BLEACH: Rebirth of Souls.

What is BLEACH: Rebirth of Souls?

During the Anime Expo 2024, Bandai Namco revealed BLEACH: Rebirth of Souls, a new arena fighting game set in the world of the Shounen series. While there is no release date, Bandai Namco confirmed that the game is in development.

The latest of the long-running games based on the BLEACH series will feature characters such as Rukia Kuchiki, Kurosaki, and Byakuya Kuchiki in 1vs1 battles.

The official blog post also noted that each character will have a different set of skills and abilities, offering a unique gameplay experience depending on the character chosen.

Unlike most fighting games, BLEACH: Rebirth of Souls will include some interesting features, including one-hit kills. However, it’s not entirely clear how that will work.

“The more desperate the situation, the more powerful you become.”

Other interesting details about BLEACH: Rebirth of Souls include that it will support multiplayer locally and online and have a unique progression system, allowing players to unlock new “forms and blades.”

While Bandai Namco shared some information about BLEACH: Rebirth of Souls, much remains unknown, including its release date. However, it was confirmed that the game is “coming soon” and will be available on Xbox, PC, and PlayStation.
