Arrowhead Games announced earlier today that it will reduce the number of updates for Helldivers 2 to produce fewer but more significant updates. According to the recent announcement of The Escalation of Freedom update, the developers seem to have meant what they said.
Announced on Tuesday, July 23, Helldivers 2 The Escalation of Freedom is a major free update for the widely popular co-op third-person shooter, which will be released in August. The update will introduce significant changes, including new enemy types, a new difficulty level, a new biome, and a vote-kick protection.
The Helldivers 2 The Escalation of Freedom update is confirmed to launch in August 2024, and it promises to be one of the biggest updates to the game since its release.
Arrowhead Games revealed the update in a short announcement video, sharing more information about what The Escalation of Freedom will add. And the list of changes is quite significant.
Headlining the update is Difficulty 10 “Super Helldive”, which will put even the most experienced players to a proper test. However, even more, causa Helldivers 2 enjoyers have many things to look forward to.
In the announcement, Arrowhead Games unveiled three new Terminids, which include a fan-favorite from Helldivers - a stabby tentacled beast, The Impaler. Joining the Impaler on the list of foes is the Spore Charger and heavier and more deadly Brood Commanders.
The Automatons are getting some new toys, too. However, we only saw one - an artillery-style rocket tank. As promised in the blog post, more surprises are waiting for the players.
The missions themselves will also see an overhaul.
The Escalation of Freedom will introduce a larger type of outposts, more additional objectives, and a new Swamp Biome. The acid storm weather effect will now have a new mechanic, reducing the armor of Helldivers and enemies alike.

Lastly, the update will include a new vote-kick protection. While players will still be able to kick players, those will spawn into their own sessions with a duplicate of their team’s previous loot. How exactly that will work is still a bit of a mystery, as it’s unclear whether the kicked player will be put in the same spot in the mission or just be given the loot.
The announcement video revealed many great new things that will be added to Helldivers 2 with The Escalation of Freedom update. However, some of the additions are still shrouded in mist.
The players won’t have to wait too long to test out The Escalation of Freedom update, which is set to launch on August 6, 2024.

Membership Subscription
You may be required to set up an account in order to access and use certain features and content for DailyGamer.com, this includes setting up a username and password.
Your Credit Card
You authorize Pro Gamer Media LLC and DailyGamer.com, its affiliates and its subsidiaries (collectively “us,” or “we”) third party credit card processor to charge your credit card for the subscription fee option you selected, to store your credit card number and to automatically charge your card upon renewal. We will not store your credit card and will transmit it to its credit card processor in encrypted form.
Subscription Renewal
For your convenience, your subscription will automatically renew at the end of your initial subscription period and each renewal period thereafter, and the subscription fee will be automatically charged to your credit card until cancelled by member.
Subscription Upgrade/Downgrade
You can Upgrade or Downgrade your subscription at any time. While logged in simply click Account or Edit Profile > Subscription > Change Plan.
Upgrading Subscription: Upgrading subscription will require a prorated payment and processing fee, it will also create a new membership billing date. Once processed member will have immediate access to all features and benefits of the upgraded subscription plan.
Downgrading Subscription: Downgrading a subscription will take effect on the next subscription renewal date, a processing fee will be charged.
Cancellation of Subscription
You can cancel your subscription at any time. While logged in simply click Account or Edit Profile > Subscription > Unsubscribe then enter your account password. Your subscription will be cancelled at the end of the current term.
Refunds
Once charged subscription fees are non-refundable.
Change of Fees
All subscription fees are subject to change at the discretion of Pro Gamer Media LLC and DailyGamer.com. Your subscription fees will not change in the middle of any subscription term. If we increase the subscription fees, we will not automatically renew your account at the higher fees but will instead seek your consent.
One Member Per Subscription
Each member must have their own account. You may not share your account log-in information, including your password, with any other person. You may log into your account from one computer only at a time.
Termination Of Subscription
Without limiting any other rights that it may have Pro Gamer Media LLC may remove, restrict, cancel or suspend access to and use of DailyGamer.com and it’s content, rewards or any other part of it, if it considers (in its sole discretion) that you have breached any of the Terms of Agreement and or Membership Agreement. Termination shall be without prejudice to the accrued rights of Pro Gamer Media LLC.
