Dying Light 2 Is Officially Coming To the Switch

Though not in the traditional way.
by Oliver VanDervoort on September 24, 2021

During Thursday's Nintendo Direct, fans of Dying Light 2 got a bit of a surprise.

Developer, Techland confirmed that Dying Light 2 Stay Human will launch on Switch next year, but it will not run natively on the platform and will only be available via the cloud.

Because the Switch is not as powerful as other platforms so in order to stay in the game, Nintendo has come up with a bit of a workaround that allows it to still get some of the biggest AAA releases on its console. The cloud version of Hitman 3 was released on Switch earlier this year, and joined Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, Control, and Resident Evil 7 Biohazard as big-budget cloud games on the platform.

When the cloud version of Dying Light 2 arrives on the Switch it will be a fully-featured edition of the game and will include 4-player online co-op.

Switch fans who don't want to wait until 2022 to start bashing in zombie heads, they'll have another alternative next month. Dying Light is set to come to the Switch on October 19. Coming with all four DLC packs, the original Dying Light isn't coming through the cloud but is the actual game. It will also have a physical release.

Dying Light 2 is expected to launch on February 4, 2022.
