The Apex Legends Global Series (ALGS) returns to LAN in a couple of days, and the tournament organizers unveiled full details of the upcoming competition. The announcement included a broadcast schedule, prize pool, and the complete list of participating teams, which consists of two squads that weren't originally expected to appear.

Apex Legends Global Series (ALGS) Split One Playoffs will kick off on February 2, welcoming the world's top 40 Apex Legends esports teams at Copper Box Arena. The opening tournament of the 2023 season will run for three days, culminating with the final round on Sunday, February 5, when the top 20 teams will compete for the lion's share of the $1,000,000 prize pool.

As we get closer to the long-awaited event, the tournament organizers unveiled more details of what we can expect, providing the fans with a quick update on the dates, the schedule, and participating teams. However, the most surprising part of the announcement included the introduction of two new teams, Sentinels and JLINGZ Esports, who were initially not slated to appear.

Sentinels acquired their spot at the tournament by signing Spacestation Gaming's roster. On the other side, JLINGZ Esports, an esports organization founded by Premier League player Jesse Lingard, supposedly took over the spot from VZN, a free-agent squad consisting of Ameer "VJEIX" Hassan, Zaine "Zaine" Kazi, and Ali "Naghz" Naghawi.

Sentinels got added to Group B, while JLINGZ will compete in Group A. The full group seeding looks as follows:

  • Group A: Aurora, XSET, Moist Esports, ENTER FORCE.36, GODFIRE, LeaveNoWitness, PULVEREX, 100 Thieves, JLINGZ Esports, Gameward.
  • Group B: TSM, NORTHAMPTON, NorCal Esports, DEWA UNITED, Fire Beavers, Alliance, Flora, Oxygen Esports, Sentinels, FC destroy.
  • Group C: FNATIC, ACEND, The Guard, K1CK, ONIX Esports, EXO Clan, NRG, Pioneers, GANBARE OTOUSAN, GHS Professional.
  • Group D: Iron Blood Gaming, Team Singularity, Vexed Gaming, Esports Arena, Luminosity, iG.International, fun123, Element 6, DarkZero.

Besides unveiling the tournament's prize pool of $1,000,000 and the seeding of the participating teams, the tournament organizers also confirmed that the fans would be able to earn Twitch drops in the form of in-game cosmetics. The drops will be available by watching the main stream or Twitch partners, with the drops enabled during the grand final.

Those who watch the stream for three hours will collect all four cosmetics, including Volt SMG and Gibraltar skins, a gun charm, and ALGS Holospray.

ALGS Split One kicks off on Thursday, February 2, with the first round of the group play, followed by Bracket Stage on February 4, and culminating with the finals on Sunday, February 5. The champions will take home $300,000 in tournament winnings and 500 playoff points, with the rest of the prize pool divided between the top 20 teams.
