Overwatch 2 End-of-Season Rewards Experience Issues

Many Overwatch 2 players haven't received their hard earned prizes
by Tit Krajnik on June 19, 2023

Overwatch 2 end-of-season rewards are reportedly experiencing issues, with some players not getting the earned prizes. This week, hundreds of Overwatch 2 players ran to Blizzard forums to express their dissatisfaction, with many complaining about the same issue on Reddit.

Like many other games, Overwatch has long had end-of-season rewards designed to compensate players for their progress throughout the season and give them various goodies, including decorative titles that players can display on their Overwatch profile. And while the ranked rewards are quite a simple concept, the execution has not been up to par.

As reported by Overwatch 2 players over the week, the post-season ranked rewards are missing for many gamers, and despite Blizzard’s staff support, the issue persists with no solution in sight. This, however, is not an isolated issue.

Season 4, like many before, have failed to deliver the end-of-season rewards to some players, and as expected, the problems don’t help with the furious response from the playerbase.

Season 3 had similar issues, but worse. Not only did some players not receive the ranked rewards, but some also suffered a rank decay, which sabotaged their efforts throughout the season and left them without the rewards they’d been working on.

Even though any game will have its issues, Overwatch players can’t accept Blizzard’s inability to learn from past mistakes and ensure they don’t repeat them in the next season, and rightly so. The issues with end-of-season rewards now join a list of many of Blizzard’s recent mishaps, which include issues with Diablo 4 servers, random disconnects, the dreaded error 300202, as well as the disaster of the announcement of Overwatch PvE mode, which will be released in the form of stories but with a pricetag.

Regardless of the problems and game developers letting the players down, Overwatch 2 isn’t struggling with its monthly activity as it continues to grow; granted, if the issues persist, it’s fair to start questioning what’ll be the final straw which will usher a drop in playerbase.
