Gun Media Insists That Texas Chainsaw Massacre Won't End Like Friday The 13th

Another great game won't go down... so they say.
by Natalie Collazo on August 15, 2023

Remember when Friday the 13th announced that they needed to shut down after being plagued with a variety of different copyright and trademark issues since its launch? Well, Gun Media, the team behind The Texas Chainsaw Massacre as well as Friday the 13th, a game that follows a similar gameplay style to the former, insists that this won't happen to them.

The former lost is set to have its license expire at the very end of this year, with a playable lifetime of the last day of next year. Considering this, it isn't very surprising that they would want to ensure that their next big title wouldn't have the same fate. Specifically, they said that they are working directly with the sole owner of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre IP, Kim Henkel. Henkel is best known as the co-writer of the original The Texas Chainsaw Massacre as well as a producer on just about any other media concerning Leatherface.

This is great news since this game is set to redefine how we all know and play survival horror games. Hopefully, we will also see the same amount of effort poured into the DLC so that we can have different iterations and costumes for all of the characters that we have come to know and love in the series.

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre is set to release on August 18 for PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X, and PC.
