Starfield Preloading Starts This Week

It's finally happening.
by Natalie Collazo on August 16, 2023

The time is finally here to start preloading your digital copies of Starfield, the newest IP by Bethesda. Well, it's actually tomorrow, but it's so much earlier than the official release date. A tweet from the official Bethesda Twitter account gave off the dates when the preloads will go live for Xbox, Windows PC, and Steam. Xbox and Windows PC players will be able to start their preload tomorrow, August 17 while the Steam version goes live on August 30.

It's important to note that the game won't be playable then, but it will be completely installed on your device. That means that when it does officially launch, you won't need to worry about any wait times for installation.

Starfield is probably one of the most anticipated games in the history of Bethesda's lineups. It could very well be because it is their newest IP in a very long time, but it is most likely due to how much effort is being put into the title. Unfortunately, some news did arise about how the console version of the game will be locked at 30 frames per second. But, there's a good chance that that won't really ruin anything about the quality of the game itself.

Starfield launches on September 6 for the Xbox Series X|S and PC.
