What Can We Expect From This Week's Nintendo Direct?

It will be about fifteen minutes long.
by Natalie Collazo on August 29, 2023

Nintendo has been on a roll these last few years since the launch of the Nintendo Switch. For a strange period between the release of the Wii, the Wii U, and the games that launched with each, there were several fans who were worried that the fate of their favorite developer, producer, and general brand was being tainted in some way. Now, that's no longer the case and the company couldn't be thriving any more than it currently is.

After the release of The Super Mario Bros. Movie and its success, there's no way that Nintendo wouldn't immediately release a Mario game to reel in all of the fans new and old of the film. Super Mario Bros. Wonder is a classic, 2D sidescroller much like fan-favorite titles in the Mario series. Besides this being the first that Charles Martinet will not be voicing the titular character in, this game marks a few new features to the franchise including the Wonder Flower.

Starting on Thursday, August 31, we will have a fifteen-minute Nintendo Direct that will look a little closer to the game and hopefully
answer a few more questions than it will potentially ask. The Direct will start at 7 am PT / 10 am EST and can be viewed right here.

Super Mario Bros. Wonder will be released on October 20 for the Nintendo Switch.
