Huge Local Co-Op Game Launches on Nintendo Switch Next Week

The Switch is perfect for this kind of game.
by Natalie Collazo on July 10, 2024

The latest couch co-op game from developer Paramount Game Studios, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Splintered Fate, will officially be available on Nintendo Switch on July 17. The game will allow up to four players to challenge enemies and wield power-ups all on the same screen.

In Splintered Fate, Master Splinter is kidnapped by Shredder, leading the turtles to save their father. Players will enjoy roguelike action with randomized rooms, boss encounters, and more. Every time players jump into the game, they quickly realize that no two runs are alike. Probably the most important aspect of the entire game is the fact that it has true offline and online co-op, making it a go-to for game nights with friends.

Splintered Fate Releases Next Week for Nintendo Switch

The Nintendo Switch helped bring couch co-op to the forefront again, with the ability to turn the two JoyCon controllers that it comes with into individual controllers. Of course, that isn't nearly as comfortable as using personal controllers, but the option is available right out of the box. With two sets of JoyCons, four friends can enjoy a single game together instead of having an online multiplayer subscription to alongside the game.

For players looking to enjoy Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Splintered Fate online with friends, that's completely possible, so long as everyone has a copy of the game. Given its colorful atmosphere and classic, comic-book-style turtle designs, gamers will likely have a good time with the game. Players can pre-load the game right now to have it available and ready to play on the official launch date of July 17.
