Former NBA Street Creative Director Announces New Game

3v3 street games are returning.
by Natalie Collazo on July 24, 2024

Street basketball has been an incredibly popular gaming genre for several years. Unfortunately, not many modern sports games are considering the street versions of their games. One of the most popular street sports games ever is NBA Street, which has just announced its spiritual successor, The Run: Got Next.

In the same spirit as arcade sports games, players can choose from different courts and players in 3v3 matches, whether with bots or other players. Players will also be able to enjoy fun styles and flavorful move set combinations.

NBA Street is Revived Once More

There hasn't been much more information unveiled minus the above killer trailer and several player announcements, including:

  • Spin Cycle
  • Zamboni
  • High Wire

Considering that there can potentially be at least six different players in a game, many more have yet to be announced. This is especially true considering the official Steam page states there will be an "ever-evolving roster of diverse, large-than-life, legendary street ballers." The trailer also didn't show off more than the single arena, meaning many exciting areas remain to cover.

The Run: Got Next has some industry greats behind the wheel, including Scott Probst from Visceral Games, one of the original creative directors from NBA Street, Mike Young, and Terry Smith,  former art director for God of War. With a couple of familiar faces working on the game, it will likely be everything fans have always wanted.
