Monster Hunter Rise Won't Have Cross Play And Cross Save

Players must begin anew on PC
by Oliver VanDervoort on October 12, 2021

Earlier this month, Capcom ran a survey asking a series of questions about its insanely successful Nintendo Switch release, Monster Hunter Rise - which will also be making its way to the PC in January of 2022

One of the questions that got the most attention was in regards to the possibility of cross-play, cross-saves, and cross-progression between the Nintendo Switch and PC versions of the game. Fans overwhelming expressed their support for such features, to the surprise of no one.

However, Capcom has now shared an update with the community via social media and it's not good news.

The famed video game publisher and developer said it "looked into it" throughout the game's development process and found it was unable to implement this feature.

That message means that if players who have already played Monster Hunter Rise on the Switch decide they want to play the game on PC, they're going to have to start all over.

Considering that Switch games offering cross-play and cross-save are few and far between, this is hardly a surprising development.
