Copenhagen Flames Sign A New CS:GO Roster

Flames 3.0 is formed
by Tit Krajnik on August 13, 2022

Copenhagen Flames announced the signing of a new Counter-Strike: Global Offensive roster. It marks the second major roster rebuild for the Danish esports organization, which parted ways with its entire lineup over the summer.

Copenhagen Flames have put together a new CS:GO roster on Saturday, August 13, led by Benjamin “cube” Stabell. The roster will consist of Danish veterans Rasmus “raalz” Steensborg and Thomas “birdfromsky” Due-Frederiksen, who will team up with Johannes “b0RUP” Borup, Thomas “TMB” Bundsbaek, and young AWPer Iulian “regali” Harjau.

The organization had announced plans for a roster rebuild in June, Following the departure of Nico “nicoodoz” and Frederik “roeJ” Jorgensen to Fnatic, and have now finally put together a team that will carry Copenhagen Flames’ flag.

Billed as Flames 3.0, the current team is a product of Copenhagen Flames’ another major roster rebuild. The organization has already sold 15 players over the last 24 months and now aims to keep its new-look roster intact for a while longer.

Although it remains to be seen how the squad will operate together, Flames 3.0 field a promising lineup. Led by raalz and birdfromsky as two CS:GO veterans, Copenhagen Flames have a solid foundation to help younger members develop. The duo join CPH following their stints with ESCTATIC and Sprout, respectively, with birdfromsky taking over the role of an in-game leader and raalz transitioning got the role of a secondary caller.

The duo will be accompanied by former ex-MAD Lions players in TMB and b0RUP, and regali, who has joined as the main AWPer following a successful stint with Fnatic Rising.

“With this group of players, we made sure that they were all onboard with this approach and were motivated to work in this way,” read the announcement.

“We have proven that we are among if not the best club in terms of developing players with more than 15 transfers the past 2 years. Our goal is to retain our players for even longer periods of time to take advantage of our new resources and setup, which in turn will solidify our status among the best CS:GO clubs and to achieve even more.”

Copenhagen Flames have no upcoming matches on the schedule, albeit we can expect to see Flames 3.0 in action sometime at the end of August or early September.
