Starfield Changes Up What We Know About New Game Plus

Starting over with everything you have is the best kind of restart.
by Natalie Collazo on August 29, 2023

New Game Plus is a feature that was introduced to games in order to allow players who worked so hard to get certain items to be able to essentially start the game over with all of those items. For a lot of gamers, this is the best feature of modern-day games. Starfieldthe newest upcoming release from Bethesda, will also include a New Game Plus mode but according to Todd Howard, with a twist. What that really means will be saved for the launch of the game and for when players finish up the story and start off with all of their items.

Howard didn't descriptively say what it is that makes Starfield's New Game Plus so much more different than the average version of the mode, but we can speculate what that means. There are a variety of different features, abilities, and skills that can carry over as well as weapons and ships.

Considering the fact that this is a mode that is normally very well received by players and that Starfield is a brand-new IP, it's hard to imagine that whatever Bethesda has up its sleeve isn't going to be positive. It's very possible that this unique spin could be a brand new game mode that can only be found within New Game Plus, giving players a sense of more that can be done from their initial playthrough as a reward for starting over.

Starfield will be available on September 6 for Xbox Series X|S and PC.
